Can anybody tell me why every time i put my td5 auto into reverse it blows the diff lock fuse and i have no break lights. Its costing a small fortune for new fuses:(.Any ideas you geniuses have would be much appreciated.

Easy, fuses blow due to a short circuit to earth, now you know what to look forthe best of luck.

does the reversing light work ?...... if it dont and is on the same fuse its probably got an earth fault on either the reverse light, switch on the gearbox or the wiring .

if the reversin light is still working your looking at the gear lever linkage physically mashing some wiring somewhere on top of the gearbox

Thanks men for the info.More info, when the fuse blows ive got no brake lights,no reversing lights and the diff lock warning light is on ,however it doesnt do it when the engines cold.

your first post said it blew the diff lock fuse.... now your sayin when the fuse is blown the diff lock light is on ,

you aint makin a lot of sense.... there again its a td5 with a lot of silly electrickery to go wrong.......
