Hi wondering if anyone might be able to help diagnose the problem, the diff error light came on about half an hour after i used the diff, there's a weird sort of drag in reverse , 1st gear, and when the car is slowing right to a stop in neutral , if feels as if the rear right wheel is trying to spin alone or something. once im up into second she runs as normal . .any help much appreciated.

is the light still on?

if so, try reversing back a hundred yards or so and see if the light goes off.

which light do you mean...cos if it's the red locked diff warning it is not an error warning just warns you that the central diff is locked...it's quite common to missbehave as the switch is not the best design, nor the wiring

it's the orange one on the top right , looks like a set of gears, i read it was difflock light

Take it into neutral then tug it back in 4 high non lock and should all be ok

sorry , what do you meen tug it back in 4 high non lock ? i'm a complete noob

Just pull the small lever all the way back and to the right. You should feel it clunk slightly a couple of times then drive the car backwards in a tight circle. The light should go out.

If that does not work just jack up a wheel and turn it slightly by hand a couple of times. Might have to do this on both axles, depending how much "Transmission wind up" you have.

i'll get my pal to take a look on monday , i've messed around with the diff trying every gear, it's still on
