Hi - Hope somebody can help out on this ??

I've just replaced the front mount on the rear diff. I removed the center bolts on the LHS & RHS mounts to do this. The new mount is now in place and all bolts re fitted.

Just went for a test drive and I now have a wheering/grating sound coming from the rear diff area. The sound is only apparent when I'm free wheeling (in gear) or dip and raise the clutch.

I though it might be that I've slightly move the prop out alignment, but looking at the marks on the mounts they all line up.

Any ideas ?? :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Thanks

Jamie

Last time I had a noise from the rear dif the oil had run a bit low, worth checking and will only cost a few quid too replace, tis a bit fiddly though :)

Thanks - I'll check that tomorrow when I have some light.

Just seems fuuny that there was no noise before i replaced the mount..

The rear dif (final drive) is for want of a better word a TW*T. The slightest movement or oil loss when messing in this area can create some quite unique noises!
Hope you get it sorted
