I have an issue with my 06 Freelander 1. Replaced the pads. Found the dust seal wasn't in a good shape, ordered a replacement kit. Went to fit, dust seal is too large (not happy) I've now found there are two sizes 54mm and 57mm pistons, as I have one of the last FL 1's which should be the correct size? I'm convinced that the car prior to me owning it has had very little regular maintainance. I don't think the calipers have been swapped in its 18 year life

I think the only change to the brakes was in 2000 when they went from solid to vented disks - and other stuff like larger vacume thingie and presumably calipers.

So presumably anything that isn't a YA vin should be the right one.
