HI
I would like advice on what engine diagnostic tool to buy and where I can get one from. Seen loads on ebay. I want to be able to reprogram to eliminate the ACE light on TD5 Landrover. Ive read about this and need to change the suspension type. All very new to me this so any advice would be amazing. I have moved the ACE system.
On a side note I have seen you can bridge pins 11 and 36. Can anyone explain this as ive read loads of threads and there is mention of leaving plugs unplugged etc. If anyone can explain the steps run bridging these pins that would be amazing
thanks in advance

John

Diagnostic tools are discussed on these threads at length. A Nanocom or Hawkeye Total would meet your requirement, don't buy an OBDII scan tool as the TD5 is not OBDII compliant. iCarsoft claims to work with D2s, but while it does some things OK, it does not support the TD5 engine module.
If you only need to test one type of Land Rover, go with a Nanocom as it deals with live data much better than the Hawkeye, but if you need to test more than one type of Land Rover the Hawkeye Total makes better sense as the one tool deals with everything from an early TD5 Defender to L322 Range Rovers.

Alternatively, as you have read can simply bridge pins 11 and 36 (ie connect them together) on the ACE ECU to put the light out. Simples.
