I Would be very interested to hear sugestions or advice about diagnostic software for my 3.9 Efi. What is it, who is it, will it run on my laptop and what can it tell me?

14cux injection system was designed and built by lucas for land rover the dealers had the machine for it later it was upgraded to work with the new dealer tool testbook or t4 the best aftermarket tool to buy made by omitec and is the hawkeye machine it is the simplest to use and the closest to the dealer tool.
i have the original diag tool and testbook for my business
other diagnostic machines are available but there is not just a laptop based soft ware you can use

Had A look at the Hawkeye and found that it will not connect as there is no direct link, a lot of money to pay for something yhat will need modifing. What i have found from Steve Heath Engineering Limited is fault display module for £50 no less, that wires into the 14CUX and gives a fault indication. Have not wired it in yet but Looking forward to it.

that will only give you fault codes not the running infomation that helps to diagnose so not that much better so guessing at faults means you will be £50 worse off
