I have my first Classic, a 1991 Vogue SE auto in Ardennes green. A few body corrosion issues to be worked through but can anyone point me in the right direction for diagnostics.

I’ve reading about the 14cux ecu system and I know it’s not a conventional obd set up but what do I need?

I’ve seen the cable and cd on eBay for about £40 but wanted something I carry onboard and don’t want to lug a laptop around. What’s the latest wisdom on this? Some sort of mini hand held windows tablet or a custom code reader?

Thanks

Before you jump in to code readers and diagnostics I would recommend learning to use a digital volt meter to check the EFI components and the ignition system.

As for a code reader, search for Ecumate, great piece of kit imho.

Thanks for that. I used to be a sparky so I am pretty good with a multimeter. I carry a cheap portable obd2 reader in my other car and would like something similar in the classic. It looks like "cheap" and "portable" may not go together in this case. I will check out the Ecumate :)
