Hello, I would like to put a help request to anyone in North East area.
Has anyone got a diagnostic for the 14CUX local to me that you could plug into my V8 discovery.
I live in Blyth Northumberland.
Thanks Ian

As I have mentioned I have fitted a new one, the other checks TPS, sensors, I will do Sunday morning.
I have got the ECU out so can do the checks, been busy with work.

Hi All,
Progress has been made with the Monster.
New Stepper motor fitted.
New battery fitted.
I bought an ECU mate off Ebay which has helped.
Engine runs great.
The dizzie is bust as I thought, when I rev up the engine the rotor arm sticks and will not run well.
So next step new dizzie, coil, amplifier, leads and cap.

Update, I decided; can the dizzie be fixed - dismantled - yes with a bit of patience, I found the springs were disconnected, This was the rattling sound I heard when engine running, cleaned it all up, reassembled.
going to buy a vac advance unit and new vac pipe next.

Hi all, been a while since ive been on here.
Decided to keep the V8.
I got the engine running sweet about 3 months back, a combination of rebuilding the dizzie, new stepper motor and kept the new MAF sensor on.
The ECU mate I bought off ebay has been great as I was able to 'tune' the stepper and got it ticking over perfect.
The MAF was registering with as fault on the ECU mate but I remeber reading on here that the ECU has to learn and register the new part so stuck with it and every day started the V8 and after 3 days I cleared the fault from the ECU mate and it has not registed again.
Fires up great every day :)
Sounds Great as there is no centre box.
OK whats next?
I have taken the sill covers off and the sills are'nt too bad, offside and N/S rear need plating and offide B post needs repair panel.
I suspected the rear floor needed some attention so today I took out the dicky seats, side covers and pulled the carpet and soundproofing out - this was soaking wet and the floor has been replaced in the past but only tack welded into place also some silly little patch welds - possibly the worst weding I have seen! pics will follow of how bad this is.
I know centre sunroof is leaking and suspect the rooflights.
Anyway started working on the beast again.
I'll start a new thread on the body work restoration.
