I have recently had a set of firestyle alloy wheels fitted to my defender by john Craddocks. And six out of the sixteen special alloy wheel nuts have lost their stainless steel covers within seventy miles of them being fitted Only sixteen fitted as four locking wheel nuts also fitted). Craddocks have told me that this has never happened before as the covers are crimped to the wheel nut by a machine during manufacture.
They replaced the defective wheel nuts and posted six new ones to me. However when I opened the boxes I found that two of the stainless steel wheel nut covers had come off in the box before they have even been fitted. Craddocks now say they will have to send the wheel nuts back to ‘All Makes’ for testing. Therefore, I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem especially from Craddocks or indeed anywhere else you have bought them from.
