Hi all,

I'm about to buy a defendoor fuel cap cover thingy (saw one in a carpark and had to wait for the guy to come back and ask about it).

I was going to get a plain black one. They are £7.90 each or you can save a quid if you buy 3. Anybody want the 2nd and 3rd (I will post for free)? If there is more interest, I can contact them and see if they do bulk deals.

Will probably order mid-week ish unless there's mass interest,

Cheers

Looks interesting - how does it stay in place?

Literally just 'snaps' over the lip inside. Have a look here and it shows you with some good pics and explanation; http://www.defendoor.co.uk
Our first challenge was to create an uninterrupted locking edge around the complete cover. This edge must also serve as a drip shelf to keep the rain water running down the side of the vehicle from finding a way inside. A quick look at your fuel filler recess and you will see what we were up against. The factory cut and bent edge of your Defender’s recess varies greatly in wall thickness. The side walls vary between 4 and 5 millimeters thick and the top edge is as thin as 2 millimeters. Adding to this is the 50° angled rear wall of the recess that left very little space to create our top drip edge.

We developed a cover that meets all criteria. We preserve the integrity of the top drip edge while adding two spacers to compensate for factory tolerances in the wall thicknesses. We also slanted the top edge of the cover to fit in the tight space next to the angled rear wall of the filler recess.

The one I looked at this weekend, had a cable attached to the fuel cap somehow so the defendoor is still attached when unclipped (he said he put this on after the first time he filled up using it and left it on the petrol pump).

Simple yet effective whilst being (amazingly) well priced (as in, not your usual 'they're defender owners so lets rip them off' kinda thing)

Does it have to be 3 of the same you buy?? I had one for about 4 years until some TW*T nicked it the other week, I had the 'Diesel' with skull and crossbones one, if they still do that one.

It would appear they don't still do that one, so ye I'd be up for having a plain black one off you;););)

Or you could buy them for £7 at the Great British Land Rover Show at Donington on November 29th from 4x4overlander
