Hey landy owners and enthusiasts happy Christmas I'm new to the site and only have limited knowledge I'm a massive fan of the defenders and think their a true staple of British culture I've been wanting one since I was 15 my dad had one and he says their great I am thinking of getting a defender in January when I have the funds I am a newish driver been driving for half a year the insurance isn't a problem and I'm good with tools quite handy I'm willing to learn a lot about them so that's why I come to this place lol I'm planing on buying one and doing some off road driving but 70 % percent now will just be for driving casual and to work a few times a week I'm wanting some thoughts on if it's a good idea, I don't really want a money pit but I am willing to do mods myself and I would like to get a half decent one and fix it up to the spec I want any opinions would count thanks

For simple easy to repair yourself a lot of peeps go for the 200 Tdi or 300 Tdi

Try and find a nice unmolested one then as you said you can make it your own.
