Hi guys

I have just fitted a Programmable Wiper Relay form Mud stuff and i just want to confirm the wiper speeds on the stalk on a 1998 Defender.

From the off position i can go 1 click down into intermittent (program mode)

From the off position up 1 click to constant slow

From the off position up 2 clicks to the constant fast

Im asking because after fitting the new relay it seems bit different to the old one. In a better way i also this the old relay was playing up.

Cheers Landy Lee

The operation is different with modified relay, does yours work like this now.

the volkswagen '99' relay, fitted in nearly all vw's from the late 80's onwards and plenty around;)

guess I'm going diggin in the shed for one of my spares to try in the Ninety:cool:

Rich.

Does this work on older Ladies with the stalk which is down for manual sweep and two ups for slow and fast, no intermittent delay control e.g. Nineties/OneTens from 1984-1989?
Is it just a change of the relay or is there more to it than that for early models?

Hmmm....MudStuff state The Defender Programmable Relay is only compatible with the 300Tdi/Td5/Tdci model Defenders fitted with wiper stalk (PRC7370 or AMR6106) that has the latching intermittent setting.
JGS4x4 do them or similar state: Will not work with early stalk PRC3900 up to GA models.
So I guess no use on mine. Will have to continue to use my finger!
