Hi all,

weird issue of water ingress. It seems to be on the front part of the arched section of the transmission tunnel. Just below the fuse box it is very slight but if I dig my finger into the corner of the carpet it’s a bit wet.

the fuse box and the rear bulkhead portion directly behind the fuse box is bone dry. So it doesn’t seem like it’s running down from anywhere.

below I marked in red where it’s a bit damp

Me and my dad did actually disturb the transmission tunnel cover as we planned to remove it, but then changed our minds and went from the underneath instead to look at the gear linkages. We did start taking out bolts though.

can anyone offer any other sort of advice?

does some kinds of sealant need reapplying?

The only real place the water could get there is running down the inside of your bulkhead. Have your flaps been open in the rain?

There is a seal compound there when new and now disturbed splashing when on wet roads may be enough.
Carpets in a Landy are something of a no no, they will get wet and promote rot sooner or later.
