Hello all......
First post, be gentle with me.
Have searched for hours and can’t find the answer so here goes.
My 2.4 2010 has started to black smoke a little on gear change and when I apply only a very little acceleration input, as if its waiting for the turbo to spool up.
Eventually after a long run the MIL came on.
Plugged the nanocom in and found the usual list of faults, the one of interest was the MAF ‘in range but higher than expected’. I guess if the ECU thinks more air is entering the engine that really is it will add to much fuel.
Managed to get a new MAF and changed out. No difference - except the MIL has stayed off and the higher than expected fault has not reappeared .
Consumption is around 30mpg and it pulls well. Not lumpy or stuttering.
One thing that is strange, with the engine not running the nanocom still shows 300g/s - could be a cheap MAF similar to the cheap ones for the TD5?
Managed to hook up to one of the work defenders today and it shows 0 as you would expect with the engine stopped but it’s the 2.2 so want to be sure apples for apples.
Is there a table on tinternet somewhere that shows all the ‘Normal’ Values for the readable instruments via a nanocom? Searched the black box site also couldn’t find one.
Alternatively, could some kind soul with a 2.4 and a nancom confirm what values they get with the engine stopped, at idle and say 2000 rpm so I can see if this unbranded item is a blue Peter special.
All the best and thanks in Advnace.
