Hello All,

My first post, so I hope I have put it in the right section of the site.

OK, so I have been fiiting some new headlights to my TD5 defender. When I removed the left hand headlight there are two spare plugs.

I am assuming one is for the headlamp levelling motor as there is an identical plug behind the right hand headlight.

The other though, I have no idea. It is quite a substantial plug as it has a metal retaining clip around it. The outer colour is brown and the inner colour purple, with 4 terminals inside.

If anyone can let me know what this is for I'd be most grateful. I am hoping it's for auxillary lights as this is something I am hoping to fit in the next couple of months before winter driving begins.

Is it for the battery backup sounder?

No apologies necessary. I just had a quick look at mine, and that's the only other standard piece in that area. Plugs for headlamps, leveler, washer pumps, and alarm.

Wish the harness came with a couple extra plugs for aux lamps! ;)
