Changed the injector loom today on my td5 defender and when i come to start it, it ran like a bag of bolts when i started it to try it, sounded like it was working on 4 cylinders etc. I was going to change this because the red ecu plug had oil on it. So to cut a long storey short i had to put the old loom back on due to it running lumpy? anyone any ideas

Have you checked all cables to injectors connected properly did you hear the click when pushed on also check the connection of the loom into the injector rail may have bent a pin when connecting

Re checked all conections etc the new loom must be faulty as cant see what else it could be

The old loom may need flushing out with a contact cleaner or a brake parts spray if you used a new loom you may have to get it put on a novocom to check the condition of the ecu
