hi all,

due to arthritis issues I'm going to convert my 2004 110 td5 van to automatic. I'm going to use the Ashcroft V8 to TD5 Heavy Duty Torque Converter Fitting Kit. Has anybody used this before?, do i have to drill the td5 auto flywheel to access the 4 torque converter bolts instead of the standard td5 3 bolts. Also as I'm using the automatic gearbox out of a 300 tdi what's the handiest way to fit the kickdown cable to the td5 accelerator pedal, and finally does anybody know the distance for the v8 torque converter to the face of the bell housing.

thanks in advance

Gary

Have you asked Ashcroft if they know the answers to these questions? lt may well be that they do, if they sell the parts.

Ashcroft did my TD5 auto conversion... HD torque converter... went for the compushift rather than the cable system...really good set up, smooth gear changes, and the stage 2 tune works well with this set up.

They will certainly have answers to your questions.
