ive put a 3.9efi from a 1988 RRC into my v8 defender it's all running but still having idle issues,
I have finally managed to adapt the speed transducer cable to fit and so the speedo cable, only thing is when I tested it while moving it was hovering around 7-8volts and only Fluctuated around the 0-2 volts when in reverse,

Also the yellow and green wire coming out of it switch round when connected to the factory plug from the RRC so the green goes to the yellow and vice-Versa on the connecting plug

My questions are;

1: Can the speed transducer box be connected the wrong way round via the speedo cable and transfer box cable?

2: should I follow the first wire coming out from the box to be the signal signal (yellow) and not connect to the green once the wires have switched over once connected to the original RRC plug ( I'm trying to keep this connection as its a good water tight connector)
