Anyone out there have Defender Roof bars who could take the measurement between the top of the roof and the highest point on the roof bar? Having access issues...and don't want to let tyres down.

thanks,

roof bars? Whatever for?

:) see above pic.

cnt measure them exactly but roof bars i have seen stand around 2 inches proud of the roof.

COuldn't you make something that suits your needs exactly? The LR gutters are pretty easy to clamp to.

I could do but I just want to avoid fitting and refitting everytime I want to carry the Kayaks. The Defender usually goes in the garage but it is very tight height wise and I probably have 2.5 inch between top of roof and lowest part of garage door.

thanks,

he he he was watchin black adder the other night...

With my roof bars you would have no hope off getting into the garage.

I think bar would drop to next position down but then you start loosing the space below to be able to tie down. You would also have to cut the supports down.

I guess it would add about 3" from the roof. Your other option is to fix some tie downs to the roof itself and then use rubber foam sheet under the kayak.

FirstFour make some good roof bars but I think they will still add 3-4".

Thanks for pics Vinnie 110. Yep with those hoops I have no way of getting in garage.

Sit on Kayak is 13ft 4 in to be specific. Still to big to put inside unless I take front windscreen out.
