At first glance it’s about on-the-money, but with only 35k on the clock it looks a bit more desirable.

This is good news for us that own them, as it will take away the hype that's been created since production end was imminent a few years ago, and hopefully it will make them and their parts less desirable to theives now. Bad news for anybody who bought one as an 'investment' though:p

The trouble as I see it was that so many people tried to sell their Landies at inflated prices pretty quickly after the news of shutdown. They were artificial prices and I don't know of anyone who actually sold their overpriced vehicles .. though I know of a few who sold them with a reasonable amount knocked off till they reached their real market price!

Frankly, if you ain't selling or buying it's no matter, fake news, who cares? ;)

....back to more sensible levels?
It seems that even the best examples are no longer making the mad money.
This pristine looking TD5 (surely one of the best available?) has been on sale for a while and is now reduced, still not selling.

Well looked after then.....

^^^ post #5- Scary stuff - another "owner" who uses the MOT as a way of finding out what's wrong with their vehicle - love the corrosion advisories, and the fact they have essentially been completely ignored.... must believe LR's don't rust :eek::eek:

Yeah But ..it is shiny on top...some idiot ill one day buy it..........LOL.

Cheers

Prices have been very unusual in the past couple years.
My 02 90 cost me ~£8.5k, 3 owners, 65k, partial service history, few issues. Sold after 5 years for £13.5k with zero issues and a fresh respray, sold within 4 months or so
Though my 04 110 XS cost me shy of £12k, 1 owner, 90k, currently insured for £18.5k. Few small issues I missed. Did however take me a year to find a good one
Then been seeing 110 CSWs/USWs, 100k+ 4/5 owners selling for £14k+, with XS models going for £17k+

Recently saw an 05 110 DCPU XS, 2 owners, 60k sell fo £20k!

Seems to be all over the shop, also seems I got a pretty good deal! haha

Seems like that one is not as good as it looks.
It is true though that the mad money ones are not selling.
My local Indy had a brand new 90 XS HT at £34,000 + VAT which was pretty much the “going rate” after production stopped.
It was in stock for over a year and finally bought back by the LR dealer.

I nearly bought it!

I was attracted by the low mileage but their offer for my pristine (but 90,000 mile) 2005 110 CSW was derisory.
I never got as far as actually looking at it.

There was a period of time after tratter production stopped when LR was assisting main dealers in buying back tratters which were nearly new or on low miles. It lasted for about 6 to 12 months. Reason being they had demand from customers who were prepared to pay a bit more than normal price for a nearly new vehicle sold through the approved used scheme. Offers were up to £10k more than book price to buy back but varied depending on vehicle/spec. That doesn't mean they all got £10k. They were made a generous offer and LR helped dealers with this until the sale went through.

There was also the tratter celebration special limited editions which ranged from £28k to £62k depending on model chosen. Peeps could see these being sold for more money than usual when compared against previous new vehicles and yer can kind of see why everyone thought their own vehicles price had gone up. To be honest I don't think they did. As said above there was a lot of talk about peeps listing tratters for a higher price than normal but I don't honestly think anyone paid anywhere near that for it. Many of them had been ont sale for quite some time. I think a lot of the perceived price rises never really happened. There were many on LR's site (and still are) which are priced higher than normal but these are sold with the approved used warranty etc and possibly the last chance to buy one from LR main dealers. Many have been on sales for quite some time.

I think a lot of the perceived price rises never really happened.

I agree. Prices on adverts are not the same as achieved prices on actual sales.
A lot of chancers, hearing the hype, put their Ninety/ One Tens and Defenders up for sale at inflated prices, but we do not know if they achieved those prices.
The several people I know that have actually sold older Tratters in the last few years got about the money I would have expected. Between about 5 and 10 K, depending on age and condition.

Let’s be honest, for selling purposes they may as well call them Defenders. SIII and older does not apply.
Nooooooo!
I like correcting people on mine.
It usually goes a bit like- 'ave ya finished that Defender yet?' And I reply 'it's actually a Land Rover 110, and not quite' or 'I see that defenders still making your your garden look a mess' and I say, 'somebodies parked a defender on my garden?' or 'is that Defender going to be for sale at any point?' which is followed by 'what Defender? I can only see a 110'.

Heh, "mine ain't a Defender, it's an '89 90", which makes people stop for a second .. ;)

Here is another one, mint chassis with a precautionary replacement rear crossmember. When you look at mot history, chassis is mint.
