Hi guys

Anyone know if a disco 300tdi M, N or P front axle would fit my 1994 defender 300tdi. Would it be a straight swap?

yes but there are diffrent raitos on them so get something same as what you have . i did on my 90 an upgrade to use the brakes from the 110 vented discs and calipers just swaped the diff and it bolted straight up
 
The ratios are the same! All defenders/ discoverys/ RR/ and coil sprung models had 3.5:1 previous post must be mistaken only Special vehicles had different ratios and older Series were 4.7:1.

To furthur complicate things there was 2 types of splines 24 and 10 spline. Yours bing a late type should be 24 spline and so should the Discovery just make sure but it doesn't really matter if you get a whole axle it will still be ok.

You must of had an early 90 with 10 spline shafts and fitted Later 110 sith 24 spline diff's shafts they are all 3.5:1 ratio though.

Anyone know a estimate weight of a complete front axle, for shipping purposes and dimensions. Doesn't help living in the Channel Islands. :(
 
250 KGs that may be with wheels and tyres attached mind cant remember off hand so approx 200/250KGs. Front is bloody heavy. Hope that helps Jai
