As some of you may know me and chunkymunky recently fitted a 200tdi into his early defender 2.5td.

I cant seem to get the temp gauge right, it was showing just below red on the standard 200tdi sender so it was replaced with sender PRC6663. It is still reading about 3/4 when warm even though the radiator bottom hose is only luke warm.

What sender should he be using that is compatible with the defender gauge and disco 200tdi engine

Fitted temp sensor PRC2505 and its still reading hot :( Any other part numbers as i will go out and buy one today

Just buy a proper gauge that reads in degrees C with matching sender available for about forty tokens and see what your engine real temp is.

Its not my truck its chunkymunkys, Also i know that its not overheating as there is a thermostatic fan on there which doesn't come on and the bottom hose only gets luke warm

could it be reading right and may have an air lock? Problem with thermostat?
you seem to be concentrating on the sender, could it be something else?

Been covered loads of times, general opinion was get a new sender from Steve Parkers who does the proper one for the conversion

Have spoken to steve parker himself today. Prc6663 should have done it. He says he now recommends using disco sender with disco gauge or a stand alone.

Mines deffo fine. Problem is i kinda made coarse go into fine thread so may have mullered it. Temp gauge is pretty unspecific anyhow figure i may try and put a stand alone unit in but with mud pof/dash as stereo is proud of dash and may fit cb at some point.

Its scrappyloz's fault, he made me go laning and now i wanna kit it out:eek:
