I took my 2010 defender 110 to a local body shop for check up, and the mechanic suggested that the chassis had a slight compression or groove on each side of the picture attached circled in red and can be felt by running your hand across the inside of chassis frame. I checked a couple of defenders they all got the same groove in that area, does it come out of the factory like that or happens from bumps as the mechanic suggested.

Could be a bit of distortion from when the plates were welded together at the factory.
If it isn't giving you a problem, and it passes any local statutory vehicle inspections needed where you are, I suggest ignore it.

It isn't "bumps", may I suggest you 'bump' the local body shop ....

Possibly where the chassis is pushed apart to get the gearbox crossmember in (or out, but unlikely if you’ve seen it on others).
