Can someone pin up, as a fixed forum piece, this subject please (like the protected bit on paint & colours or TDI engine conversion pieces are protected for instance) If you do a search, and I have tried, its full of meaningless junk where people are scrabbling about trying to find it, too much rubbish (like this post haha) comes up.

Try doing a search yourself as a newbie and see what rubbish comes up with dead ends and smart comments - I'm sure its in here somewhere, we certainly have the knowledge, but seem hell bent on making it difficult as you will see if you do a search

Great but I'm suggesting a comprehensive guide looking at things to look out for when buying a Defender, dealing with Engines, Steering, Bushes, Rust, transmission, ball joints/aframes etc - ie what to look for if you were going to buy one - and then, pin it up at the top of the Defender section. Theres no doubt loads on here, and if you post it you no doubt know where to look, but run through a search as a newbie and you'll struggle - either way, we can't pin it up at the head of the section which is why I posted it in Feedback & Suggestions (for the webmaster I presume)

Not sure what that means - no, I mean at the top of the forum section when you open "Defender 90/110/130"
ie it says the following at the moment:

I mean here - I don't think I'm much good at explaining this stuff and certainly couldn't write it but a concise guide here would help. Like the How To - 200tdi guide, not loads of links and comments, just a straightforward guide

Your post I've copied above is post 6 in this thread of posts. This is denoted by #6. You can see the post number at the bottom right hand corner of a post where it also says Like +Quote Reply
neilly put a PDF together of members suggestions of things to look out for when buying a Defender.
By the way, we're agreeing with your suggestion! :)
 
Haha - I got there in the end, and that is bloody fantastic - yes, that PDF, pinned to the lead in Defender page in either long form or as that PDF download under the heading of Defender Buying or Buyers Guide
