Hi peeps

My 1986 110 passed the mot last week after changing a few bushes so back on the road. My question is I've got to change discs and pads for next time but I'm not sure what axles are under the 110. I was told it's a sailsbury rear and I'm not sure what's under the front. How can I buy discs and pads if I'm not sure what I need. And what make should I get??

Cheers steve

Are they easy to do??

Pads are easy, discs slightly more complicated but nothing that a Haynes manual won't show you.

Your vehicle should be fitted with a standard Rover type axle at the front and a Salisbury at the rear but for that year the rears should be drum so if discs are fitted then a later axle has been retrofitted. Almost definitely still a Salisbury but it pays to check.

Yes there are different types of pads and to be 100% certain you are getting the correct ones it is worth pulling them and checking them against the new ones, it takes only minutes but could save a lot of grief.
The trouble with LR's (and especially older ones) is that parts get changed and a subsequent owner might not realise.
