Hi Everyone,

Im going to be fixing my bonnet protection tomorrow but iv noticed at the front end of bonnet and other parts are double skinned and cant be bolted down due to the length of bolts.

Will self tapping screws work best as i dont have a rivit gun?????? help me please

gonna try the m6 50mm Countersunk Machine Screws Pack of 25. i'll let you know guys know if i was successful tomorrow. thank

why go to all that trouble countersinking the chequer plate, when it will be much easier to just pop rivet it on.rivet guns are only a few quid.

the chequer plate is already countersunk thats why. iv bin told by loads of people not to pop rivit coz they rust n pop out easy. i'll stick to bolts like the rest of my landy

I've rivet mine, easier and quick, plus the hole you have to drill on the bonnet wont be as big as if you use a bolt...

ok then, your landy your choice.good luck with it whatever you decide.;)

never heard of rivets coming off... unless who puts them on doesnt know what they are doing...

its dead easy, just make sure the hole you drill is exactly the size of the rivet...
and the rivet is long enough to catch both the chequer plate and the bonnet.

I think I still have some left in the garage, I'll go out in a bit and take a pic for you with the size I've used
