Hi all was at a car show with my 1999 300 TDI 90 CSW and someone pointed out that my front lenses for side lamp and indicator appear to be MOD style rather than standard.
Does anyone know if that is the case?

They are attached below, can I just buy some cheap lenses which are the standard more pointed type to replace as I want it to look as original as possible, unsure if the diameter of the light itself is different as well though?

I was thinking these type here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rov...p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0

They look to be what are often called North American spec lamps, if you want to go back to standard yo will need complete lamp units and new lamp surrounds.
Bluedog got there first

If its an NAS spec motor keep it, they're not too common anymore

it’s a 1999 CSW 90 based here In the U.K. so unsure why it would have NAS lights on it from manufacture?

it’s a very late 300 TDI registered in 1999 though

Ah it won't be a NAS motor then, although they are available in this country now and again. Those lights do look a lot better than the standard ones, if it were me I'd keep them but you'd probably fetch a decent amount selling them

sounds like to change it to standard U.K. spec that I’d have to change all the front black surrounds too and the lights as well?

I'd say keep it..... looks better than the stock ones.
And I'm sure those are land rover parts not some modification with parts from another vehicle, hence you should be pretty sorted in terms of originality.

Brill thanks the rear ones are also the same too

I fitted NAS lights to the F&R of my 90 21-years ago, although more common just on the rear it was not unknown for them to be fitted to the front as well.
First thing is to check if the front panel has been re-drilled, if it has it isn't really a problem as new finishers will cover it up but you may have to adapt the fixing screw locations.
Just out of interest what do you have on the rear?

Photos below date from 2004 (the earliest digital images I have).

I went back to standard type LED front lamps a few years ago (left the rears as they were) as I was re-doing a re-modelling of the front end.
I had previously also replaced all the NAS lights with Le Perei full LED type, great looking (OE) units which give a great light output.

Back of mine is like this

I’m a little curious why mine had these fitted, but nice to know it’s just a North American Alternative. I think I might leave them alone for now

They are NAS spec lenses. Not fitted to U.K. models but WAY better than the crap standard U.K. units. You’d be mad to want to change em back. Might not even be an easy switch back either. As NAS units have a larger body and usually need a bigger hole.

your right if the U.K. ones are smaller then I’m gonna have issues with the paintwork I think. Guess I’ll leave them for now.
