I have a rear tank guard that's rusted and looks a mess. Can I replace it with a paddock spares galvanised one from underneath ? Will it involve removing the fuel tank at the same time ?
All advice welcome and appreciated.
(I've had a new galv chassis, but retained all original serviceable parts - this tank cradle however looks a right mess from behind).
Thank you everyone.

For my TD5 90 2002 Getting the fuel tank out from below was a nightmare. I think other posts suggests that assembly is done from above so it's not meant to go that way - getting the guard out from below requires big hammers and crow bars and there is so little space to manoeuvre it out that bending of the overlap lugs is inevitable. I had to take it out to do the rear cross member. Best advice is throw away the tank guard and fit a beautiful thick aluminium one like the one YRM do. This bolts from below and will make for a much easier job next time you have to take your fuel tank out.
