hi everyone,

I'm currently re building a defender 90 pickup from the ground up. I bought a 200tdi chassis (galvanised) that has had 300tdi engine mounts welded to it (before being dipped ). It's at the stage of a rolling chassis, and now ready to lift the 300tdi/r380/transfer box (not sure which one if that makes a diffrence) in one lot into the chassis, but being a newbie to the Land Rover world I'm struggling to work out how the gearbox and transfer box mounts fit to the chassis (200tdi). I have the 300tdi rubber mounts were the half black/silver with 2 threaded bolts on them at (about 90 degree angle) , I can locate were they connect to the gearbox/transfer but before I fit them there isn't any mounts welded on the chassis (like the engine mounts). I've searched the Internet and asked about it but there hasn't been a definite answer in what I should do, i have had people say I can use the LT77 gearbox brackets (which I have) that bolt on side of the chassis with 3 bolts and there are holes in the chassis for that but I can't see how that would line up with the boxes rubber mounts.
I've also had people say there is a specific r380 cross member that already has the mounts welded onto it, so it's just a case of dropping the boxes on and bolt up. But would that cross member fit in them 3 bolt holes as above or the original 200tdi crossmember holes. By using the 300tdi cross member would I have work out were the new cross member goes and drill new holes.
Or if there a simpler / better way of over coming this, I'd be open to ideas :)

Many thanks Greg
