Hi all
Been having an issue with my 300tdi 90, brakes.
About 1 in 5 times I use the pedal, I get alot of travel and have to pump once to get more efficient brakes, then its fine for a while.
I w ent to bleed the system today, and found I could get no fluid from the rear offside caliper, all the rest were fine.
Any ideas ? I have searched the forum but am unable to fine the answer,

Obviously something is wrong at that wheel. Are you losing fluid - is the level dropping in the master cylinder? Have a really good look at the pipe run, in case there's a kink or other damage. Start by getting fluid at all the wheels, then see how it feels.

You might have a delaminating flexi hose!! If the hose breaks down presure can close up the inside of the hose !!

I'd undo the connection at the caliper (the pipework) and see if you are getting fluid there. COuld pull the bleed screw completely - might be an issue there.

I had a similar issue on a car that had a worn/misadjusted set of wheel bearings - the wobble pushed the pads RIGHT out and used up a lot of fluid getting contact.

Look at the general condition of the pads and such as well - I've seen a warped rotor and/or bad bads give (perhaps not intermittent) but bad pedal.

Well I changed both rear calipers this morning, bled through ok, brakes seem ok.
Could do with new disks methinks, thats the next job, if the brakes remain ok.
Thanks all you loverly people that replied, its good to know there's a world of knowledge ready to help.
Have a good one.
