Hi guys,

For my final year at college I have to do a project and I want to do up my landy since the material will be payed for and I can keep what I do, as well as getting a grade for it! Unfortunately it has to involve more than just fitting so attatching chequer plate wont do...It has to involve design work etc..does anyone have any good ideas for stuff I can do? :)

cheers

Probably in the region of 500 quids worth as long as it seems worthwhile..Im not entirely sure as I havent asked but price shudnt be too much of an issue as long as its a proper project. I was thinking a new dashboard or wind scoops for the wingtops?

well I am ambitious however I love my landy too much to risk doing something too big in case it doesnt work out as I want it to look good of course...you got some better ideas then?

Im not sure gold would suit my landy entirely :p its a green CSW with white roof and yellow flashing lights!

keep yer landy as it is

buy a wrecked series 3, a milk float and some old PV cells .......

do ya know what it is yet ?

dya not reckion winch bumper would be too expensive? I dont know how hard that would be to create either?

how about buying spare axles and completely rebuilding them, if you've enough cash spare - refit them with new suspension components...

I dont know if buying spare axles will work..its gotta be my own design etc for me to get grade!

build an axle duff lock then!

Didn't realise mechanics were expected to make their own parts too... what course is it you're doing?

diff lock is a good one! do that
a winch bumper should set you back about £20-30 in steel. and design, fabricate and weld that bad boy up! should be easy to design and make, especially if it is tubular.

how about a roll cage?

rear winch bumper?

where do your interests lie? fiddly cogs and stuff or big bars and welding stuff

what have you made so far?
