Hi, all, can someone explain electrical headers a bit more please.
Defender 90 2000MY TD5
My headlamps went down, headlamp flash OK so bulbs and earth Ok, but side & mains out (dip & hi). Checked headlamp switch but that was replaced 18 mths ago and it was fine. Pin out checks showed fuses OK but intermittent supply to switch. Despite spending time I couldn't trace the apparent break in feed wire. In desperation took it to my local garage which traced it to corrosion in the headers behind the dash clutter. Fortunately I had most of the dash gubbins off so he only had to trace the loom etc.
I can see headers connect wires and sometimes enable more feeds out than in; but how do you know what links are inside them?
Can you adjust the links so you can add feeds from say ignition feed? in picture below I can see the external link 1 to 20 but looks like 2, 4 & 5 are connected internally. Do you buy them like that?
