can anyone help?

i'm new to the landy scene but i've been offered a 1990 90 2.5td with 79k genuine miles (proof seen) for a resonable chunk of money.

i really would like to start a little green laning etc BUT i've read on the interweb the engine in this 90 (ie not a 200tdi) is very unreliable and prone to eating itself!

now, i may be one of lifes worriers but can anyone who has owned one or knows about this engine fill me in with some accuracy?

I dont want to go on one internet posting but it has started doubts. please help, im going crazy.

cheers Rob.

nothing wrong with that engine, look after it and it'll look after you - and even if it did go pop they are simple to fix, or you have the option to install a 200

got pictures cos we like pictures ?

Plenty of people will tell you those td's are ****e. Mine never broke down in about 20k. It was slow, noisy, uneconomical, leaky and smelly, but it never broke down.
