Hi looking at a nice Landie and the only thing that concerns me is that going through the gears, all sweet until going from 4th to fifth when you have to hold the stick well across to right and give it a mo before engaging top gear. Going from other gears to fifth seems ok.
Owner says he was told it was something to do with a spring and that nothing to worry about. There is no crunching of gears unless you do the last change too quick. Should I walk away or is this ok to leave or easy to fix....any help greatly appreciated. At least its not a Pathfinder!
Cheers, Andy in Sunny Norn-Iron.

depends on the price as gear box can be fixed easier than rotten bulkhead,i would think geabox is getting worn

good chassis,good bulkhead,good tyres,tidy inside,galvanised roof rack..86000miles,gearbox not noisy, £3400 looked

Tell the seller you've had advice about the problem and it's an estimated £500 repair to fit a recon box. Then simply offer him £3000 instead. :)
