Hi everyone, hope you all has a jolly Christmas and new year, I have a centre tray with cup holders like a cubby box but it’s like the standard Land Rover tray without a lid, it’s held down with what looks like 4 m6 bolts…I’m on a mission cleaning my Land Rover interior and wanted to remove this tray in between the seats however one of the bolts which hold it in won’t come out it just spins, with it being raining badly here I didn’t fancy crawling underneath to see why it’s spinning round does anyone know what’s holding the nut is it a riv nut?

Yeah it's screwed to the cover plate underneath

Remove two philips screws from the front and one from each side. Take off the metal bracket which has the OBD port connector on it.

The cover plate should then come off complete with the cubby box.
Lift it at the front to clear the lip and than pull it forward

l've got a spare cover plate if you need one, the rivnut will be spinning in the metal on yours.

You can probably get the bolt out of the cubby box by holding the rivnut underneath.

You'll find that the OBD cable goes through the cover plate and if you squeeze the ends of the connector and get it out of the mounting bracket you'll be able the feed the cable and connector out meaning you can lift the whole thing out to work on it.

Lightening and seaswood thank you both very much for your reply’s, I’ll do as said and take the whole plate out to get to the fixings much appreciated
