Hi all,

Having a few problems with my pride and joy and looking for some advice. As the weather is now cold im having difficulties starting in the cold mornings. have to crang 2-3 times over a 30 second to 60 second period in total and eventually starts. I noticed a few weeks back that the fuel pressure regulator was leaking so i changed it today and also the glow plugs. got it to start Great job or so i thought. went out at 2am to fire it up and its just as hard to start as it was before. I current have 166k on the clock and did a big overhaul on the engine a couple weeks back, new radiator, silicone hoses, thermostat etc and i noticed that the coolant level has been dropping slightly since ive done the job. there does not appear to be and leaks so im wondering could i possibly have done the head in at some stage? it NEVER gets hot or even anywhere over the half way mark on the gauge even when im towing my 5m x 3m catering trailer. any advice on the head is appreciated.

I did notice tonight when i went out to start it as i was not sitting in the seat that the system was priming and whining as ive heard it do when i ran out of fuel before. The other possible symptom is im wondering if i might have a small tear/crack in the fuel line which is allowing the fuel to return to the tank and my starting problem is a fuael starvation problem, anyone got any ideas on how to go about fault finding that??

any help would be appreciated.
