Hi guys,

I put the car into gear but there is no drive. I have engaged diff lock - and still no drive.

Backgroung:
Whilst driving at 60-70mph, i heard a loud bang - i stopped to look but didnt find anything. I drove back on 30mph - which seemed ok.
Once at home, i engage rear gear and heard loud clunking- I jacked the car up and wanted to check where the problem is coming from, but after a try now there is no drive at all.

I can manually put the lever into gear position - but when i let go of the clutch i dont feel the gear engage. The clutch pedal feels the same to the press as before.

I would appreciate any pointers on what it might be. Can i do the work myself or will i require to lift the car up

Many thanks in advance

Take the round PTO cover off the back of the transfer box, might have chewed splines, quick thing to check.

Can you put it in gear with the engine running? Clutch may have failed in the open position/be slipping completly.
