Hi all, I have recently been offered a late 2000 110 TD5 and I wonder what upgrades are possible. I have today driven a 2.4 Transit engined 110 and feel this has many benefits - except the price!
1. Is it possible to make the air vents demist the side windows?
2. Is it possible to raise the gearing?
3. Is it possible to reduce the noise inside the cabin?
4. Is it possible to chip the engine?
5. What other improvements are available that really make a difference to make driving this vehicle more pleasurable.

I will be doing very little offroading.

Thank you so much, will go through all of these - and fries are off as I am on a diet, but ta!

On the same topic, is the Tranny engined Defender so much better than the TD5 (ignoring the cost). Assuming I do many of the upgrades, would I be better to pay slightly more and get the better(?) model? This will be my every day car.
I have heard the TD5 engine can be tuned more effectively than the Tranny - is this true?
 
Your welcome :D am, well if your not planning to use your defender for wading or serious off roading, and you want better economy/comfort, id recommend the TD5, all the older engines have on ECU to modify as far as i know, so yes the td5 is the best for enhancing.
