Hi
I am new to the forum and I am looking some advice. I have own Defenders for around 10 years now and my current model is a Land Rover Defender 110 XS Station Wagon.

Its a 2013 and I have decided to get some mainly cosmetic work done to it (LED lighting system, Roof Rack, Rear Ladder, Mammouth protectors, Snorkel etc). It also needs some work done for leaks plus I have opted for a full underbody Waxoyl & inner splash guards. Also all existing guards, bumpers, side steps and wheel carrier to be shot blasted, galv'd and powder coated.

I am talking to BLRC Ltd at the moment but should I be looking at anyone else? The biggest issue is they will struggle to fit me in this year!! I think their price is okay but would like the work done quicker.

Any advice out there?
 
Give Beyond Performance 4x4 at Mallusk a call. They're LR specialists and main man is ex-BLRC. I've used them on several occasions and excellent service and price OK.

If you want it done quickly I would buy a box of spanners and do most of that yourself. Even if you are a complete novice half of that list is just basic loosening and tightening of nuts and bolts. Fitting the roof rack and removing all existing guards, bumpers, side steps and wheel carrier for shot blasting and galv'd and powder coated it just nuts and bolts and finding local shot blast and galv suppliers. The LED lighting system should just be plug and play, so unscrew the light fitting unplug it, and replace it with the LED unit. There are lots of videos on youtube of fitting things like that to defenders.

The ladder, snorkel, and mammouth protectors are a little bit more involved, and need some drilling before fitting nuts and bolts. But can still be done diy very easily with very basic tools.

Waxoiling yourself is a more involved and messy process requiring some more advanced tools so i can see why you would not want to do this yourself, but for everything else if you want it done quickly do it yourself, and the money you save in garage fees, you can use to invest in tools. you will come away with a better understanding of the vehicle, more confidence to tackle larger jobs in future, and an immense sense of satisfaction having done it yourself.
 
Can't vouch for anyone else, but the quality of work done by BLRC for me over the last 25 years has been excellent.
