Hiya,

Got a series III a while ago, to have a go offroad, work on it a bit and find out how cars work, all that.

Took it offroad, had a great time, clutch burnt out though.

Baby on the way. Major works around the house, pre-natal classes to attend, no free time.

Local garages say cost of replacing clutch = about £500 (total cost of car was £715).

I've never relaced a clutch before, looked it up in the Haynes book, can't see it taking me less than a weekend (which I don't have).

Any ideas of where to take it, or who might be willing to work on it for me at a decent price, gratefully appreciated. I'm in South-West London.

Also would be happy to do swappsies with someone, e.g. they work on the car = they get to keep/drive the car for a few months.

Thanks!

Do it yourself mate A single day will cover it especially if you get a couple of mates round to give you a hand with it. Can't you join a local landy club and ask for help on it.

Send Hybridgirl a pm She'll av it dun in half a day !

I would strongly advise you "DONT" let her drive it tho !

She dose a good line in kitchins fer the back anorll !

But then yer gunner be wekin up wi yella in the back if its snowin !

I agree wi Red tho, its not a hard job to do. Its just heavy bits to lug about to get to it. If you cun pikey trolley jacks or a hoist of some sort yer shud find it a piece o ****. Give it a go mate. Yer shud ave it done in a weekend easy. Even a blonde could do it.
