Days like these...I don’t get it.

Yesterday went well working on the bitch. Everything I wanted to get done got done, it all went fairly smoothly. I like days like these.

And then, today. WTF? The headliner went in yesterday so I thought I’d fit the rear view mirror. M4 threaded rivnuts were the oem fixings so I start to screw the bolts in with the mirror and suddenly a rivnut lets go, quickly followed by a second and the third rivnut decides to do the same but attach itself to the bolt. Now I’m left with a rear view mirror hanging loosely at an angle and I can’t get the bastard off. It was a new mirror and in my increasing anger in trying to release it I snap the #ucker. Precious time was slipping through my fingers like sand. An hour later, it’s off but I’m left with three holes about 8.50mm diameter...an M4 rivnut would sail straight through. So I drilled them out to suit a M6 rivnut, fitted them and ordered a new mirror. The new mirror WILL accept M6 bolts and I’m not having any arguments from it on that when it arrives.

So, moving on, yesterday I fitted a MUD Stuff roof console. It went fairly well...after I found instructions for all the fittings on their website! (only almost an hour wasted on looking for instructions). But I come back today and noticed one of the sunvisor screws isn’t done up enough, so I go to tighten it and the sodding thing just turns and turns with no purchase. Now to take the whole roof console apart is going to be a major pita so what do I do to fix it? There’s a plastic boss/spacer on the other side of the moulding which has come loose and is only still there because the screw’s inside it so if I take the screw out, I’ll loose the spacer. I can’t leave it because the rh side of the sunvisor hangs down because it’s not done up tightly. GRRRRRRRRRRRR!
I HATE DAYS LIKE THESE!
It makes me hate the bloody Land Rover and has me thinking it’ll be the bloody death of me. What the hell am I doing wasting my time on this nasty piece of...!

But............it won’t beat me. The screw in the sunvisor might though.

Answers on a postcard please.
