A light appeared on my dash today and wondered if anyone had a solution to clear it

The yellow switch on the gearstick could be faulty, or it could be a chafed wire where the wiring exits the gearstick , under the centre console.

Checked The switch and the wiring. Both seemed ok

You lifted the gearstick gaitor and checked ?

Do you have cruise control ?
Have you had / got any brakelight bulbs blown ?

Took the switch out and checked the wiring and all ok
No cruise control
And all bulbs are working

Turn the ignition on ....
Push down the brake pedal by hand ....
Holding the pedal down with one hand, wiggle the brake light switch and see if the light does anything ...

Tried the brake pedal and wiggled the brake light switch and and wiring
Still no different ????
