Having just replaced both the diode pack on the alternator and the main belt (both died after just 3000 mile) I realised that quite a few dash board LEDs were not functioning. Using the Nancom I got the Valeo BCU to light most of the lights, but it has left me with a couple of question:
1. I am unable to get the Transfer box neutral light to come on. This would be a useful addition, but am I right in assuming the transfer box is only fitted with a Neutral Warning Switch on D2s with an auto box, and was this LED only configured for USA, Canada and Japan?
2. Does anyone know what the Nanocom Instrument Pack Police configuration do? Does a blue light appear on the roof?
3. My final question relates to diff locks. The logo on the Hi Lo Ratio stick shows Diff Locks on both ratios, but the stick does not move to the left to engage. I am a little confused as to which models years did or did not have diff locks. My S2 is August 2003 and the VIN number SALLTGM873A824162. Is it possible to retrofit the diff lock capability if not fitted.
 
Regarding my diff lock I thought I would add a little more detail to SF's learned reply for which I am grateful. Also may I thank Ashcroft Transmission Ltd for the bulk of this information.

The early Disco II's were not supplied with a centre diff lock function (CDL) although for a couple of years they did have the internals for the centre diff to be locked. During the following couple of years to save costs, the CDL internals were removed. During the last approx 2 years the CDL was offered as an option and on some vehicles the CDL internals were again fitted, a little indecisive maybe !

So, to get the CDL working you may just need the linkage or you may need both the linkage and the internal parts.

The linkage is “easy” to fit and cable operated like the factory version. The cost £245
The existing hi/lo cable fits to this new lever assembly. If you have the diff lock stud on your unit you will only require the linkage parts, to determine this you will need to find the transfer case serial number and check it starts with either 41D, 42D or 68D. If it starts 61D, 62D, 69D or 70D then you will need the diff lock parts to go in the transfer case which are an additional £225.

My DS2 was first registered August 2003 has diff lock stickers but no working CDL The LT230SE transfer box serial number 69D05393/G is therefore not fitted with the internals for the CDL and a new front housing, diff lock selector shaft, selector fork or dog clutch would have to be fitted.

As the later vehicles were fitted with Traction Control CDL was not deemed necessary and it is only in severe off road situations that joint Traction Control and CDL give an advantage, enabling steep slippery slopes to be traversed at a more refined and controllable slower speed. However at almost £500 for parts alone, plus extensive labour it is not deemed a worthwhile addition to this particular DS2.
 
Regarding selecting Nanocom Instrument Pack Police configuration this will (amongst other things I am sure) turn the PDC (Parking Distance Control) audible warning bleeper permanently on when reverse gear is selected. I guess this is to act as a warning to pedestrians that the vehicle is, or about to reverse. In this situation the PDC does not act as an obstacle avoidance warning.
