Hi Folks,

My Dash warning lights SUCK. Not visible in daylight. Ive been searching n vain for a way to upgrade them.

Anyone know a good way to get brighter bulbs in there without melting electrics? Any known good LED kits available?

Defender 1998 CSW 300tdi

Cheers :)

Hi, I watched something on YouTube for this. Just looked it up again now by typing in Land rover defender LED dash lights. Looked pretty simple but have no idea if there are any technical reasons why it would be a bad idea etc.

Don't want to replace the dash with a TD5 one. I want to upgrade the existing if possible.

Its just the Warning light bulbs. The gauge lights are fine.

Thought there might have been replacement LED warning light bulbs for indicator/handbrake etc. I've not found any anywhere. Do they exist?

Upgrading the wattage for normal bulbs could melt electrics so i'd prefer to avoid that too.

Considered trying to install standard 12v LEDs ?!?!?

Ah - misunderstood

Have seen a number of threads about speedo, fuel, water temp gauge lighting - never seen one on the warning lights

I have a 1994 300 Tdi Defender and never had any problem seeing the warning lights at all, they're pretty bright

Wonder if you need to pull the connectors off (two of them), lightly clean the copper connector strips, spray inside the conenctors with WD40 and replace.

Might just be corrosion affecting voltage and therefore brightness
