Hi All.

So Ive got a few gremlins with my dash lighting. Couple of weeks back the light behind the fuel gauge died. Then it started working again a day or two later. Then the same thing happened to the middle in between the speedo and RPM. Now its done it to the left hand heater controls. Anyone got a clue what that is? Im thinking crap connection to the loom somewhere, but I would have thought that they were split?

I think that you will find that all of the bulbs you are talking about are mounted to the flexible pcb on the rear of the instrument cluster and fed from only one live feed.

To me it sounds like you have corrosion in the contact areas for the bulbs which is causing lamps to go off and back on again ( caused by vibrations / bumps ).

I would take out the instrument cluster and clean up the contact areas for the illumination lamps and maybe replace the bulbs whilst you have it all apart.

As sods law says once you have it all working a bulb will blow requiring the removal of the cluster again to correct the problem.

Good Luck

I get this.
First time took the instument binnacle apart to replace the bulbs but found the bulbs were intact.
Now found a sharp tap with the flat of my hand on top of the binnacle successfully re-lights all of the bulbs......
