Read a few threads on this but not quite found what I’m looking for.

After a battery powered (don’t really want to hard wire and can recharge from the inverter in the vehicle if needed) and don’t have a fag lighter anymore.

Really want a dash cam with reverse cam that can also function as a reversing camera

anyone have any experience with these?

No but it's pointless running an inverter to charge a 3.7 Volt battery, when you could power such a low power device straight from a vehicle battery.

@Nodge68 I know that. I’d charge it at home. Mentioned it as a back up in case we were away for a few days. I don’t really want to have to wire it in, although I could, it’s just a pain as I’ve recently tunnelled and tidied up all the aux wiring.

I assumed that all dashcam have a battery life much like my nextbase - less than a minute. Even on standby it flattens a 40amp car battery in 36 hours when hard wired.

There's something wrong with it, as they should use almost zero power in standby, literally a ¼ of a Watt or less.
A good condition 40Ah lead acid battery will supply just over 250 Watt Hours of energy, which is enough to power a dash cam on standby for about 1000 hours.

Don't get me started on duff Nextbase cameras - it's my third or fourth...

In this case though, no, it sits there all ready to film when someone hits the car. Thinking about it - I'll experiment tomorrow but it may be filming continuously and only saving it if there's an impact, thus capturing the period up to the impact.

Mine would wake up from standby and start filming anything that walked close to the car, even the neighbours cat would wake it up.
