Well it was inevitable I suppose on my 2006 TD4 facelift number 1 and 4 cylinder Glow plugs sheared off below the nut even using a torque wrench set at 20nm so there was no chance really.
I have watched numerous vids on Youtube so am going to buy one of the £30 kits off Ebay to drill out and remove the broken plugs I must admit I'm bricking it but needs must.
On the plus side fitted my breather mod and changed engine oil and filter.
I located the fuel filter thanks to people on here but the carrier bolts just turned so I'm going to wait until I can remove the osr wheel when the front jobs are done.will keep you posted! AL.

Unless you really need to get them out? (extreme OCD or going to an extremely cold place). I'd be running it as is, at least until you've given them a few weekly sprays of PlusGas penetrating fluid.

The TD4 will start quite happily on 2 working glow plugs, but it will start slightly rougher than it should, and run a bit lumpy when cold. This will clear up after a couple of minutes, but that's the way I'd be going for a few weeks.

Yes it did start badly and as the plugs have sheared below the 10mm body nut I wondered whether compression could push out the centre electrode so I'm not starting the vehicle and opting for the thorough job,it stands to reason the number 1 and 4 are more difficult to replace and may have never been done and yes I am a bit OCD everyone who knows me knows I won't settle until I have done every job lol.
I have already crawled on my back front to back looking at everything else and Brakes front and back are next inline with planned removal or rear prop to send VCU off to Bell for test/refurb suppose I'm a lot OCD really.
