I stupidly let a friend drive my TD5, who managed to drive 3 miles at reasnoble speed with the handbrake on. Rather than notice then handy warning light on the dash, it was the burning smell and smoke in the cabin that alerted him to the problem.
It seems to drive fine now, however I am unsure how much damage could be caused as believe the handbrake is attached to the rear drive shaft?
Can anyone let me know if I need to worry about this - or has it just knocked some life off the handbrake shoe?
cheers for any thoughts offered
