I am a D2 guy, have/had 17 so far, all V8's as that is all we really see in the US. Over the years I have developed a solution to the dreaded thermostat issue common on these that we call the inline thermostat mod. Recently got it to the point where I could make an "official" post over on our forums. I thought I might cross-post it here so users here could benefit from the information. Yeah, you are referring to the sensor port up photos. There are two versions available, port down or port up. Port down fits a bit better to the shroud than port up. I quickly threw the port up version in there to show how it fits and did not do the normal install with silicone to seal the hose to the housing or position the clamp correctly as I was not going to leave it in there. Good to know you are taking care to cut your hose with precision, what's the acceptable tolerance on that anyway
