Hi, I want to upgrade my intercooler on my D2 td5 but can’t justify £400. Can anyone recommend a universal intercooler that can be fitted, as they are much cheaper?

I fitted one to my tuned td5 a few years back and noticed the following,
1, no difference in power or delivery
2, engine ran hotter due to thicker core restricting air flow through cooler package, in fact the viscous fan actually earnt its living for the first time in 4 years, literally never heard it run in anger until larger cooler fitted
2, running thermocouples I did not notice the outlet air was any cooler than with the std cooler, Iirc 70 degc springs to mind?

Lots of D3 owners have fitted the cheap universal RS500 cooler, might be worth a look?
